Chrystalline
When it comes to the New Mexico dance music scene, DJ Chrystalline is undoubtedly on the top of the list. Having brought many dancers to release themselves through her signature style of FUN-ky soul moving rhythms, Chrystalline is both a dj and vocalist.
Under her production company, LadyDjs, Chrystalline has produced or co-hosted events that brought names such as Ben Watt, Mark Farina, Miguel Migs, Heather, Tortured Soul, Woody McBride, Dayhota, Justin Long, Ra-Soul, Roy Davis Jr., Keith MacKenzie, King Britt, The Scumfrog, Spettro, Demarkus Lewis, and Lady D. Chrystalline has Djed at all the top clubs throughout New Mexico and toured both nationally and internationally. From Hawaii to Bali, Indonesia she carries her message of "Free the Booty" with enthusiasm and joy.
Chrystalline has worked with Chicago house pioneer, Roy Davis Jr., where she performed vocals for the track, “I Love You So.” She’s also recorded vocals for Ion on “Bliss,” with Ryan Leon on “Free the Booty” & “One in the Music,” and wrote and co-produced “He Loves Me” with Jeff Omidvaran.
Being an advocate of women in the music industry, Chrystalline founded ladydjs.com to support the national female DJ scene. And while this female DJ has been rocking the decks since 2001, it is her passion and creative outlook on music and art that sets her apart from the norm. “When the men of my tribe drum and sing and the women dance in unison, there is an amazing serge of energy, and a feeling of community,” according to Chrystalline’s bio. “It’s a very similar interaction at a gathering with a DJ and the crowd – when everyone is feeling the same beat and there is that sense of community for that moment you aren’t focusing on what divides you, there is a common connection that is so powerful. It's much like heaven."
